Es handelt sich offensichtlich nicht um manuell erstellte Grafiken [&#8218;Digitalisierungsgrafikstil&#8216;] (manuelle Digitalisierung) sondern um direkt digitalisierte Grafiken. Und die Stimmen sind selbstverst\u00e4ndlich auch digitalisiert (Atari ST Version?). Auch der Avatar ist digitalisiert.  Dies macht den Spiel &#8211; wie bei all diesen Spielen &#8211; irgendwie &#8222;fernsehhaft&#8220; aber auch bis heute seltsam, weil alles nicht aus einem Guss ist und an Collage erinnert. Mit dabei nat\u00fcrlich die klassischen &#8222;Artefakte&#8220; dieser Zeit: Pattern-Color-Generierung. Alles scheint zuerst monochrom bzw. &#8222;schwarz-weiss&#8220; gewesen zu sein und dann in der Hier-Welt eingef\u00e4rbt worden zu sein.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Konkreter zu den eingesetzten Digitalisierungtechnologien:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Production\">Production<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When Cyberdreams approached&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/H._R._Giger\">H. R. Giger<\/a>&nbsp;about providing artwork for a video game, the artist disliked the proposed use of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Video_Graphics_Array\">VGA<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mode_13h\">Mode 13h<\/a>&#8217;s 320 by 200 graphics and demanded higher resolution, calling lower resolution &#8222;square and jagged&#8220;.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dark_Seed_(video_game)#cite_note-manualcreation-6\">[6]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;The developers agreed to use 640 by 350 mode instead, although doing so reduced the palette from 256 to 16 colors. Cyberdreams received access to almost all of Giger&#8217;s artwork. Some of the work selected for use in Dark Seed includes: &#8222;N.Y. City III&#8220;, &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Isle_of_the_Dead_(painting)#Paintings\">Hommage a Bocklin<\/a>&#8222;, and &#8222;Li II&#8220;. &#8222;Li II&#8220; is featured on the cover, box and manual art.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dark_Seed_(video_game)#cite_note-manualcreation-6\">[6]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developers used an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Epson\">Epson<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image_scanner#Flatbed\">flatbed scanner<\/a>&nbsp;to import selected body parts and landscape fragments in monochrome, then with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Deluxe_Paint\">Deluxe Paint<\/a>&nbsp;II Enhanced for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MS-DOS\">MS-DOS<\/a>&nbsp;assembled them into single images. An Amiga and an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/S-VHS\">S-VHS<\/a>&nbsp;camera digitized actors&#8216; poses that Cyberdreams further edited on PCs. After the company decided that the images were inadequate late in the development process, developers hand colored the art for six more months.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dark_Seed_(video_game)#cite_note-sears199211-7\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;The main character, Mike Dawson, is named after the game&#8217;s designer and producer.
