Remediating the Social

Scholars, artists, researchers and performers are invited to the conference, Remediating the Social held in Edinburgh, November 1-3, 2012. The conference is the final event organized by the EU funded ELMCIP. ELMCIP is a project of Electronic Literature as a Model of Creativity and Innovation in Practice, started in 2010 and ending in 2013, comprising seven university institutes in seven european countries studying electronic literature. The event is hosted by the Edinburgh College of Art.
Remediating the Social also features an exhibition of 18 artworks. The show is held at Inspace, a purpose-built research and exhibition facility at the University of Edinburgh, fully instrumented to facilitate engagement with developments in new technologies, scientific research and creative practice. The exhibition will continue after the conference for three weeks. The Searchtrilogy by Johannes Auer, René Bauer and Beat Suter is part of the exhbition and part of the performance on November 1.
